Come along to our next information event where medical professionals and patients will discuss the latest guidelines on the mangement of thyroid disease. It will be on Saturday 8 February in Westminster from 10.30am to 4pm.
The meeting will take place at The Abbey Centre, 34 Great Smith Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3BU from 10.30 to 16.00. The registration fee, which includes lunch and refreshments, is £15 for BTF members and £25 for non-members.
The aim of the meeting is to provide information about the current best practice guidelines for the management of thyroid disorders in so far as they affect adults. In particular speakers will focus on the NICE guidelines which will be published in November 2019. The meeting will not cover thyroid eye disease, pregnancy, thyroid surgery or thyroid cancer.
We have lined up some excellent speakers, some of whom were members of the NICE committee. They include GPs, endocrinologists, a biochemist and a specialist in radioactive iodine therapy and patient experts. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the day.
Depending on interest we will run parallel sessions on treatment for hyperthyroidism with radioactive iodine and treatment of hypothyroidism with liothyronine (L-T3). To help us plan the event you can indicate on the registration form if you have a preference for either of these topics.
To secure a place/places please return the attached registration form together with a payment by 13 December 2019. Cheques should be made payable to the British Thyroid Foundation. If you wish to pay online please email email@example.com or phone 01423 810093 for details.
