The BTF is dedicated to supporting individuals with thyroid disorders and their families. We offer a wide range of resources that can help you find out more about the thyroid, how it works and what can happen when it goes wrong. All our patient literature is endorsed by leading thyroid doctors (endocrinologists and surgeons).
We also provide a network of local support groups in communities throughout the UK which are all run by our friendly volunteers. The groups provide reliable health information, can be a valuable source of friendship, they encourage social interaction, and have often been described as a 'lifeline' to people who feel isolated and bewildered by thyroid disease. Many of the meetings include opportunities to learn more about thyroid disease with talks by professional speakers.
If you don't have a BTF local group in your community you are welcome to contact our volunteer telephone contacts who would be happy to speak to you and offer you support and guidance about how to manage your diagnosis .
